He is a member of the Miami University Board of Trustees and has served as President of the Miami University Foundation and President of the Union League Club of Chicago. David is also a CPA in Illinois.

  • Directed health care cost reduction projects at more than 100 hospitals to aggressively reduce costs by 5 to 15% in the materials management areas, including supply chain and purchased services, through contract renegotiation, product standardization, value analysis, supply utilization, price benchmarking and group purchasing organization utilization. Millions of dollars of cost savings were implemented at each client.
  • Led an expense reduction project for a $1.2 billion Catholic healthcare system with nine hospitals, resulting in $44 million in implemented annual benefits: $28 million in non-labor and $16 million in human resources.
  • Led labor expense reduction initiative at New York health system with $350 million in annual operating expenses, producing more than $25 million in implemented annual improvements, including a $12 million reduction in labor expenses, a $5 million reduction in non-labor expenses, and $7 million improvement in net revenues.

Ramona holds a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, in computer science from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Business Administration, with beta gamma sigma honors, from Emory University. She is a CPA (Texas). During his tenure with Wellspring, he served as the chief turnaround officer on more than 18 comprehensive performance improvement projects for health systems, which resulted in implemented benefits ranging from $15 to $66 million.

Experience at a glance:

  • Served as chief turnaround officer for a five-hospital system in the Southwest. Results included reducing accounts receivable days from 65 to 42, one-time cash acceleration of $14 million, a $10 million reduction in labor costs and a $15 million reduction in non-labor costs.
  • Served as chief turnaround officer for a large multi-campus integrated delivery system located in the Midwest. Results included a $33 million reduction in operating expenses, a 1.5-day reduction in length of stay and an increase in operating margin from 0.5% to 5.0%.
  • Served as chief implementation officer for a three-hospital system located in the Northeast. Results included more than $37 million in implemented improvements, including a $13 million reduction in labor costs, an $8 million reduction in non-labor costs and a $13 million increase in net revenues.

George holds a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in industrial engineering, a Master of Science in industrial engineering, and a Master of Public Health in health services research from University of Pittsburgh. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. In addition, Janice has held several leadership positions in hospital management companies and within the HMO industry, including CEO, CFO and operations vice president.

  • Served as Chief Turnaround Officer at a $1.5 billion multi-hospital health system in the Southeast and delivered annual recurring benefits exceeding $100 million: $40 million in revenue cycle benefits, 15-day reduction of accounts receivable, 1.6-day decrease in length of stay, $23 million reduction in labor cost and $28 million decrease in non-labor costs. Addressed change management issues with employees, clinicians and management that yielded tangible improvements in communication, teambuilding and training.
  • Served as client service executive to a nationally recognized academic medical center and helped consolidate revenue cycle operations across the enterprise, increasing net patient revenue by $62 million and reducing labor costs by $15 million. Assisted in developing strategies for a cancer center that spanned organizational structures, operational models and financial relationships with affiliated entities, leading team of non-labor experts on reducing $45 million in supply chain costs.
  • Led a merger operational due diligence project for Midwest-based health systems with combined revenues of $3.4 billion, assessing benefits ranging from $122 to $250 million in a three- to five-year period in the areas of labor, non-labor, revenue cycle, physician services and clinical operations based on consolidation, service rationalization, corporate overhead reduction and standardization of operational practices. Under Mukesh’s leadership, he ultimately implemented $50 million in revenue cycle and non-labor consolidation benefits.
  • Led a national initiative with five nationally recognized medical centers to develop and design an outpatient and service delivery model.

Mukesh holds an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he was also an adjunct professor. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and previously chaired a healthcare seminar with President Bill Clinton, former Kellogg School of Management Dean Dipak Jain and industry luminaries. Mukesh is a certified public accountant in the state of Illinois.

The operating margin increased from 1.5% to 5.6%, and as a result of the strong financial performance trend, Moody’s increased the bond rating to A2.
  • Served as the Client Services Executive for a leading academic medical center that is part of a larger 10-hospital system. The project produced over $45 million in savings in Workforce, Non-Labor, Physician Practice Management and Clinical Operations. The work was later expanded to include three additional hospitals in the system.
  • Held an executive position with Tenet Healthcare to help form and lead the Performance Management & Innovation department as part of the turnaround efforts for 100+ hospitals. Improvements included the areas of corporate overhead, Workforce and Clinical Operations, bringing more than $75 million in savings.
